Overview

What can 100 million pounds do to a landmark 1889 London hotel? You'll have to visit The Savoy Hotel to find out. Start in the iconic Beaufort Bar and go from there.

Try one of the 26 different champagnes served by the glass in the Beaufort bar, the top vintage running 150 pounds a glass.
Along the storied Thames, The Savoy Hotel has stood as a testament to Edwardian and Art Deco design since the 1800s. Bright lights shine down on you from the hotel's recognizable logo, and cast dramatic shadows against detailed stonework.

268 rooms, suites, and personality rooms are available - the latter group having been enjoyed by Winston Churchill, Katherine Hepburn, and Claude Monet, to drop a few names. The butlers of the hotel are trained in its very own school - the first of its kind.

If you'd rather head out to find the hotel's offerings under your own power, you'll have to block off a good chunk of time. Begin at the American Bar, where 1920s cocktails live on. Not to be outdone, the Beaufort Bar serves modern libations in a jet-black environ, complete with original cabaret stage. Afternoon tea is best done at Savoy Tea, and light dining is perfected at the Thames Foyer. Moving on to more substantial options, Simpson's In The Strand is the place to watch a classic British roast being lovingly carved, whereas the River Restaurant prepares modern French fare with a side of Thames views.

Last but by no means least, is the Savoy Grill. Over a hundred years of history is lead by the prolific Gordon Ramsay. If charcoal-grilled chateaubriand with pommes soufflés worked for Oscar Wilde, then who are you to argue?
