That, and it's home to Rest Detail Hotel, the eccentrically-named sanctuary with a distinct eye for subtle style.

On the Gulf of Siam, Rest Detail Hotel appears modern - with a touch of minimalism. Warm woods characteristic of the region are balanced with an off-white palette, creating a welcoming atmosphere against the swaying palms. Varying sizes and types of rooms, villages, and pavilions are available, some with hot tubs or amazing beach views, and still others surrounding a glistening pool.

Opening on to the main pool and out to the Gulf, Rest Scene restaurant serves up flavorful Thai and Mediterranean favorites on lacquered wood picnic tables - creating a jovial communal vibe. Breakfasts are best taken in at Rest Gastro, an indoor/outdoor buffet overflowing with fresh fruit and vegetables from the hotel's hydroponic garden.
