About This Hotel
Step into the heart of the jungle at Meghauli Serai, a sumptuous safari lodge bordering Chitwan National Park, Nepal.
Standing on the banks of the river Rapti, Meghauli Serai overlooks a vast expanse of rippling waters and the core of Chitwan National Park. A host of exotic animals make their home here, from hyenas and tigers, to crocodiles and Pied Kingfishers. This 29-room lodge is designed to showcase the spectacular surrounding wilderness, all while providing luxurious comfort and the Taj hotel group’s famed hospitality.
The 16 villas face the river and jungle beyond. Within, guests can relax amidst warm and contemporary furnishings, including grass mats made by a Nepali NGO. A separate wing has 13 smaller rooms, which overlook a small body of water.
Experience some of nature’s most majestic creatures in their natural habitat by exploring the jungle through walking safari, elephant safari and boat safari. Knowledgeable naturalists guide you through the forest’s unique flora and fauna, while providing insight into the local community and culture. One can’t miss activity is climbing into the shallow river and giving Anjali the elephant a bath.
Join fellow guests back at the lodge to enjoy a Nepali dinner of flavorful grilled meat and vegetables sourced from the garden. Dine under the stars, or opt for a romantic candlelit dinner served next to the river’s edge.
