This is a world-class experience in the middle of nowhere. Which somehow makes it even better.
Tasmania is a wild and diverse frontier on land and in its coastal waters. The trick to creating an outstanding resort here is to move with the flow of nature, and not against it. That's exactly what Saffire Freycinet has set out to do - and they've succeeded.

Overlooking just 20 intimate suites is the main building; reminiscent of a bird in flight or stingray gliding across the seabed, the organic roof is constructed of curved Tasmanian wood, and sits atop huge windows looking out to the low-lying brush and coast.

Sustainability is key here, but in such a way that guests still enjoy every comfort. Rooms are modern-yet-cozy, and offer complementary mini bar. Sure, the view is great from your patio, but you'll be encouraged to meet nature close-up. Explore the white sand beach in search of mussels, book a helicopter dining tour, take out a mountain bike in search of marsupials, or soak up some local cooking know-how.

Last but not least, one must mention the food program here; it's amazing what some of the cleanest air and water can to do local meat and produce. Put them in the hands of a master chef and ... you get the picture.
